Growing up in Pensacola, Florida, where the ocean offered an escape from everyday life, Scott Grove draws inspiration from the organic, outdoor moments that evoke a sense of awe and quiet relaxation. He works with watercolor, paint, pen, and other drawing tools to create visual worlds expressed through print and pattern. His practice blends traditional textile techniques, such as weaving, dyeing, and embroidery, with innovative methods like laser engraving and flatbed printing. Using natural materials ranging from wood to cotton, combined with illustrative drawing and print, his textiles take on an abstract, tactile quality that echoes the experience of moving through natural environments. His work is well-suited for richly textured interior applications, including carpet, wallpaper, upholstery, bedding, and drapery. By bringing elements of the natural world into contemporary living spaces, his designs invite viewers into a sanctuary of calm and restoration.
