Seaside Sundance

Seaside Sundance is an outdoor textile collection that invites you to the water to enjoy the sun. This project proposes both a collection of five patterns for luxury hotel & cruise pool furniture and accessories, as well as a laser-cut umbrella & patio cover that interacts with sunlight. This collection urges organic flowing lines into pool spaces, and uses light as a motivation to encourage people to sunbathe, swim and relax in a unique shaded area.
This collection was awarded the 2024 Richard Frinier Design Scholarship. Scott was flown out to Casual Market Atlanta, and had the opportunity to meet several designers, leaders and innovators in the performance textile and casual furnishing industries.

Patterns Printed on Cotton Fabric
In addition to the pattern collection, Seaside Sundance showcases a laser-cut outdoor umbrella/pool covering that plays with light and shadow. Pictured to the left is a prototype cut out of cotton fabric, but the proposed cover would be cut out of an acrylic woven to withstand outdoor conditions.
